On the 8th of April, I shared the latest campaign from Women’s Aid.
This was not the positive post I wanted my readers and followers to look at, but sadly it’s real and it’s happening now, If you haven’t seen it, please take a little time to take in the below.
In recent weeks, due to the rise in domestic abuse cases during lockdown, Women’s Aid has spoken out about the urgent need for more financial support.
Luxury fashion resale service, Cudoni exclusively announced that they will launch their campaign in support of Women’s Aid today.
Cudoni have partnered with a host of high-profile stylists, journalists, authors, broadcasters, and influencers (including Alexandra Shulman, Laura Whitmore & Pandora Sykes), to create an edit of designer items to sell via their platform, with all proceeds going to Women’s Aid.
The edit, consisting of luxury items from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Ganni & JW Anderson, were generously donated from the personal wardrobes of some of the media and fashion industry’s biggest names.
Names include: Podcaster and Writer Pandora Sykes; Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore; bestselling Author and Journalist Daisy Buchanan; former Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue Alexandra Shulman; Telegraph Editor Celia Walden; Sky Sports racing presenter Alex Hammond; influencer and fashion writer Katherine Ormerod; Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Editor Miranda Almond; and stylists Aimee Croysdill and Isabel Kelly.
Items within the edit will be available to purchase from midday this Friday via the Cudoni marketplace with 100% of the money raised from sales donated to Women’s Aid, including Cudoni’s usual commission rate.
In line with the government guidelines, every item within the edit has been collected contact-free, adhering to Cudoni’s strict new collection policy.
Faye Connelly, Women’s Aid Fundraising Manager said “We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Cudoni and all those who have contributed to this amazing campaign to raise funds for Women’s Aid. In recent months, we have all witnessed the spread and impact of Coronavirus. Survivors have told us that they are experiencing escalated levels of abuse due to the lockdown. As long as the restrictions are in place, we expect to see a continued rise in demand for our services. Cudoni’s support will make a huge difference to ensure that we can support more woman reaching out.”
James Harford-Tyrer said: “We are proud to be working with a fantastic group of inspirational women to take a stand against domestic abuse with Women’s Aid. This is an incredibly important cause that we need to get behind, now more than ever, in these challenging times. We continue to offer our contact-free collection service to help facilitate those who wish to make donations towards this vital campaign through resale. Domestic abuse has no place in our society, so we encourage everyone to help drive further awareness of the issue and continue to donate.”
