Ed & Sarna; Iconic eyewear, the personal touch.

As we’ve enjoyed the beautiful sunny days so far, with the lure of lockdown lifting more and the potential for holidays, the temptation of the summer wardrobe is there.

As you know from my previous posts, I’m a massive supporter of independent labels.

So, could you imagine my absolute happiness at the thought of an online appointment surrounded by the most beautiful designer sunglasses.

What started as a small market stall on a sunny day in London is now one of the world’s best places to shop for vintage sunglasses and eyeglasses online. They always try and accommodate their customers’ requests (for example, my father is rocking a pair of 90s aviators with bottle green lenses right now and looking forward to a pair of bifocals!)

All their glasses are original vintage frames from the early 1950s to 1990s, are completely unworn and in many instances one of a kind.

They also fit all their frames unless stated with brand new CR39 UV400 lenses – a high-quality UK standard lens. With full UV-A and UV-B (99%), these lenses are both lightweight and effective against the sun, making them perfect for everyday wear.

So that’s the sort of technical bit out the way, let’s talk about the personal touch.

I booked my appointment with Adam for 30 minutes and logged on, not quite knowing what to expect.

An hour later, having travelled through time and trends online, Adam talked about going across Europe and the USA sourcing frames directly from old distribution firms, manufacturers and antique optometrists, always focusing on unique, one-off, statement-making styles.

Creating a personal touch through the brand and his love for the frames that surround him every day, making you want to reach through the screen and hold them in your hand yourself, turning them round to look at the tiniest beautiful details. From the original unworn Cartier glasses, inlaid with amethysts from the nineties to the Iconic Carrera and Porsche collaboration embodied in aviator form.

This is conscious buying at it’s finest, where else could you buy vintage Dior knowing you are going to be it’s first owner….
