As you know, I’m a massive fan of independent labels and active wear…
Lockdown has meant a different way of working, living and definitely dressing. There’s been a massive surge in lounge wear and active wear, as we stay in and work out. I’ve also noticed there’s been such an amazing surge of support for the independents too. It’s been so lovely seeing new brands spread across social media platforms like a cheerful whisper, that gets louder and louder as we fall in love with the ethos and the founders as well as the aesthetics.
Mood apparel launched in May 2020 and was founded by Emily Shaw, a British designer based in London.
Tired of searching for fuss free and body flattering leisurewear that wasn’t overpriced or had a yearly subscription fee, Emily set to work on designing a pastel range of shorts for herself that eventually developed into a lifestyle brand.
“I was looking for clothing that was versatile, comfy and most importantly suited all body shapes. Activewear shouldn’t be seen as clothing specifically for running, yoga or swimming etc. It should be adaptable and fit for any type of movement whether that’s to go walking in, dancing in, wearing around the shops, to festivals or to travel to exciting new places in. Activewear needs to be all of this whilst also being able to withstand the most intense workouts!“
Emily, founder of mood.”
She combined multi-functional, soft, high quality fabrics and tailor made them to fit all body shapes, in beautifully bright and flattering pastel shades. Most importantly she achieved this at a competitive and economical price.
With the colder weather creeping in, our thoughts turn to layers and lounge wear they’ve launched a range of super soft separates which are the perfect addition to their core collection.
Emily wanted to be able to provide a complete look that inspires confidence. Combining cute tee’s with activewear that accentuates your features, to add accessories with tan enhancing beachwear to create an empowering beach mood or to instil confidence in a person that was only ever comfortable wearing black to expand their wardrobe and discover a new bold mood.
A versatile and life adapting brand….
